Phosphor Bronze Strips CUSN4 |
1. CuSn4 - UNS.C51100 Phosphor Bronze Strips
C51100 Details & Applications
CuSn4 - UNS.C51100 Phosphor Bronze Alloys, with a nominal composition of 95.60% copper and 4.2% tin, deoxidized with phosphorus, possesses mechanical properties and fabricating characteristics similar to Phosphor Bronze 5% - C51000 alloy but with 35% higher electrical and thermal conductivity by virtue of the lower tin content. C51100 alloy also offers a combination of high strength and ductility, excellent spring properties, good bearing qualities and wear resistance, excellent corrosion resistance and good resistance to stress relaxation. The improved electrical conductivity as compared to UNS.C51000 allows for miniaturization of electric current-carrying contacts and connectors.
2. CuSn5 - UNS.C51000 Phosphor Bronze Strips
C51000 Details & Applications
CuSn5 - UNS.C51000 Phosphor Bronze Alloys, with a nominal composition of 94.80% copper and 5.0% tin, deoxidized with 0.2% phosphorus is the most widely used of the phosphor bronzes, which offering an optimum combinations of such engineering properties as high strength and ductility, superior fatigue and spring characteristics, excellent corrosion resistance, durability for severe service, good bearing qualities with low friction and higher wear resistance, superior forming and spinning, resistance to stress relaxation and good joining properties. In most cases, C51000 alloy has adequate electrical and thermal properties for many current-carrying and heat transfer requirements.
C51000 Alloy typical applications for phosphor bronze include bearings, bushings, gears, pinions, shafts, thrust washers and valve parts.
3. CuSn6 - UNS.C51900 Phosphor Bronze Strips
C51900 Details & Applications
CuSn6 - UNS.C51900 Phosphor Bronze Alloys, which is a 6% tin bronze distinguished by a very good combination of strength and electrical conductivity. It is used for connector and current-carrying springs in contacts. Among the 4-8% tin bronze C51900 exhibits a high electrical conductivity, the highest reachable strength is significantly higher than C51100 and C51000. By means of an additional further tempering after the cold forming process the bendability can be further improved.
Its adequate conductivity makes it particularly interesting for springy conductive components. It is wear-resistant, has very good corrosion resistance and can be readily soldered. Due to the higher strength and springiness and good workability, C51900 is used for all types of springs as well as for flexible metal hoses. In addition, it is applied in the paper, pulp, textile and chemical industries, as well as in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and process equipment manufacture.
4. CuSn8 - UNS.C52100 Phosphor Bronze Strips
C52100 Details & Applications
CuSn8 - UNS.C52100 Phosphor Bronze Alloys, which is a 8% tin bronze distinguished by a very good combination of strength and electrical conductivity. It is used for connector and current-carrying springs in contacts. Among the 4-8% tin bronze C52100 exhibits the lowest electrical conductivity, the highest reachable strength is significantly higher than C51100 and C51000 and C51900. By means of an additional further tempering after the cold forming process the bendability can be further improved.
In addition, it has better corrosion resistance and good sliding properties. C52100 is used for springy components and sliding elements when increased strength and wear-resistance are required.
